BUILDING APPROVALS AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for Australia rose 1.6% in May. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 27.3% to 13,591 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved fell 1.2% in May. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 8.7% to 7,256 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses rose 6.3% in May. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 58.7% to 6,197 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved rose 2.6% in May and has risen for 5 months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building fell 0.9% in May and has fallen for 12 months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved rose 5.3% in May and has risen for 4 months.
