The estimated gross value of production of all major crops (apart from wheat) and hay fell in 1999-2000. The gross values of barley and oats were down by 18% (to $4.7m) and 44% (to $1.2m) respectively, while the gross value of wheat increased by 9% to $3.6m. The estimated gross value of pastures and grasses cut for hay fell by 25% to $28.5m.
