DWELLING UNITS APPROVED STATE TRENDS The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in New South Wales rose 2.8% in January 2010 the eleventh consecutive rise. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses fell 0.2% following rises in the previous 12 months. VICTORIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Victoria rose 2.2% in January and has risen for 14 months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses rose 0.9% and has risen for 14 months. QUEENSLAND The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Queensland rose 1.6% in January and has risen for 11 months. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses rose 1.1% and has risen for 12 months. SOUTH AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in South Australia rose 3.5% in January the sixth consecutive rise. The trend estimate for the number of private sector houses rose 0.2% and was flat last month. WESTERN AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for total number of dwelling units approved in Western Australia rose 1.0% in January and has risen for 13 months.
