(a) OT - Other Territories - Includes the Territories of Cocos (Keeling) Islands and Christmas Island and Jervis Bay. Cocos (Keeling) & Christmas Islands are incorporated into an WA CED and Jervis Bay is incorporated into an ACT CED and a NSW POA. The POA and CEDs are only counted in their State/Territory of origin.
(b) Includes 1 LGA 9399 Unincorporated for each State/Territory.
(c) Statistical Districts can cross State/Territory borders, as such SDists may be counted twice in a State/Territory (NSW 3, VIC 1, QLD 1, ACT 1). They are counted once for the Australia total.
(d) Excludes water CDs as no counts are recorded for water CDs (Nil CDs).
(e) Includes Off-shore, Migratory and Shipping CDs.
(f) CD Derived - Areas derived from a best fit basis, from externally determined boundaries.
(g) State Suburb counts do not include the one 'unclassified' suburb that occurs in each State and Territory.
(h) Includes 1 "dump" postcode (x999) for each State/Territory - x= State or Territory code. Postal Area boundaries may cross State/Territory borders, and are counted in the State or Territory of origin.
(k) The total of the States do not add up to the Australian total because some postcodes cross State borders. A postcode can be counted in several states.
(m) 2nd Offshore CD is Antarctica
(n) ATSIC Regions cross State and Territory borders, as such AREGs may be counted twice in a State/Territory (NSW 1, WA 1, ACT 1, OT 2) . They are counted once in the Australia total.
(o) Parts of Jervis Bay Territory are incorporated in a NSW IARE and ILOC and all of the Territories of Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands are included in a WA IARE and ILOC. These IAREs and ILOCs are counted twice - in the OT as well as in the particular State. They are counted once in the Australia total.

(b) In the Australian Capital Territory Journey to Work Study Area, 19 of the 22 CDs contained within SLA Cooma/Monaro (12050) are included in the study area. This study area includes the NSW SLAs of Cooma - Monaro (12050), Gunning (13600), Queanbeyan (16450), Yarrowlumla (A) - Pt A (18651), Yarrowlumla (A) - Pt B (18652) and Yass (18700).
