Agricultural activity in NSW can be characterised by the widespread adoption of mixed farming techniques; raising livestock in conjunction with growing cereals is common practice.

  • The main broadacre crops in terms of production are wheat, barley and rice for grain.
  • The main livestock raised are sheep for meat and wool, and cattle for beef production.
  • The grape and citrus industries provide the main fruit crops.
  • The main vegetable crops grown include potatoes, sweet corn and onions.
