MEDIA RELEASE
Year Book 1999: Queensland as it is today The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today released the 1999 Year Book Queensland , which takes a comprehensive look at the State's economy and social conditions drawing on information from ABS and other key sources. This important reference on the State is a must for those who want topical and relevant facts at their fingertips. Information is brought together from a wide variety of sources and is presented using a mix of text, tables, charts and maps; the facts and figures come alive in the beautifully presented, easy-to-use reference. It is bound in a hard cover featuring the stark beauty and sunburnt colours of a scene in Central Queensland. Media will find the publication a good source of stories. Where further information is needed, ABS can supply figures from the original surveys on request. The 1999 edition contains a detailed statistical review of important aspects of life in Queensland, including its government, industry, environment, history and lifestyle.
