The following statistics relate to industrial disputes that involved stoppages of work for 10 working days or more at the establishments where stoppages have occurred. (Ten working days is equivalent to the amount of ordinary time worked by ten people in one day.)

From 2004-05 to 2005-06, the number of working days lost in Tasmania decreased from 2,400 to 700, or from 11 to 3 working days lost per thousand employees.
