The climate, terrain and vegetation of NSW are well suited for breeding and grazing of livestock. Sheep grazing continues to be the main livestock activity across the state while beef cattle are found in all Statistical Divisions (SDs). Dairying predominates along the coastal fringes of the state and in the Murray SD; pigs are mainly raised in the Murray SD. LIVESTOCK NUMBERS, NSW, at 30 June
