Tasmania's World Heritage Areas are a popular destination for visitors. Of the estimated 652,200 visitors who arrived by scheduled airline flights and Bass Strait ferries in 2002-03, approximately 179,300 (27.5%) visited Cradle Mountain, 130,800 (20.1%) visited Lake St Clair/Derwent Bridge and 95,500 (14.6%) visited Gordon River. These World Heritage Areas were also popular in previous years.
