The Health and Welfare of Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples (cat. no. 4704.0) provides a comprehensive statistical overview, largely at the national level, of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and welfare. It comprises a series of articles produced by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW). What's new this issue

Latest data, more accessible Following on from the previous biennial series of printed reports, this electronic release presents comprehensive analysis on a more frequent basis. Information presented will be regularly updated as new data becomes available, and the range of topics covered will be expanded as new analysis is incorporated. This electronic release also incorporates a number of features aimed at making the data presented more accessible. These include easy access to source data presented in tables and graphs and links to related information available from the ABS. Acknowledgments The ABS gratefully acknowledges the ongoing cooperation and assistance provided by Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the collection of data. Without this, the wide range of Indigenous statistics published by the ABS, including this release, would not be possible. Information received by the ABS is treated in strict confidence as required by the Census and Statistics Act 1905. The artwork used through this release was produced as part of the Making Two Worlds Work project, a partnership project between the Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation and Women's Health Goulburn North East.
