DESCRIPTION

This survey provides information on the immunisation of Australian children against selected preventable diseases. It also presents information about health screening practices such as testing of sight and hearing, visits to dental professionals and visits to baby health clinics.

Data from this survey are used to develop and assess health prevention programs and policies.


SCOPE

Children aged 0-14 with parents in scope of the Labour Force Survey. Excludes persons in non-private dwellings.

National information on children's immunisation and health screening was previously collected in the 1989-90 National Health Survey, 1983 Children's Immunisation Survey, and the 1979 Sight, Hearing and Dental Health Survey.
