Purpose
To provide cost movement information particular to the road freight industry (longhaul and shorthaul) in Australia.
Description
Transeco Road Freight Indices were developed because of a demonstrated need by the road freight industry to have its own cost movement information.
Data are collected by mail questionnaire, telephone interview and personal interview from approximately 30-45 organisations.

- Fuel and oil costs;
- Tyre costs;
- Maintenance costs;
- Capital costs;
- Registration costs;
- Insurance costs; and
- Freight rates.
