Description This survey collects information about the operation and financial performance of all businesses which earn the majority of their income from trading in goods produced by the business. The 1996-97 survey has a sample of 64,000 businesses, with a subsample of about 7,500 businesses providing more detailed data on value of commodities sold, income and expenses. Data are collected by mail questionnaire. Data Detail Data are available for the above items for motor vehicle and parts manufacturing, shipbuilding, boatbuilding, railway equipment manufacturing, aircraft manufacturing and transport equipment manufacturing. Geographic Coverage Australia, States and Territories. Frequency of Data Availability Data are released annually. Historical Data The survey was first conducted in 1968.
