PURPOSE

Mesh Blocks are a small area unit that was first introduced by the ABS for the 2006 Census. They will not be fully integrated with the ASGC. They will however, be fully integrated into the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) for the 2011 Census. For further information regarding the ASGS see Chapter 14.
