RLHP Relationship in Household - 1st Release This variable describes the relationship of each person residing within the same household. All persons aged under 15 years are classified as a child under 15 and considered dependent. To be classified as a Dependent Student (15–24) or a Non-Dependent Child the person must be a biological, step, adopted or foster child of a couple or lone parent usually resident in the household; AND have no partner or child of his/her own usually resident in the household. Furthermore, if such a person is aged 15–24 years and studying full time they are classified as a Dependent Student, otherwise they are classified as a Non-Dependent Child.
