Tutorial transcript 7

Welcome to the TableBuilder Training Tutorial Series: Module 7 - Graph View basics. In this module, I'll show you how to create a graph, change the style of your graph, change the variables in your graph, and finally how to download your graph.

This tutorial assumes that you have already logged into TableBuilder and created a table of count of persons (Place of Usual Residence) in State/Territory (STE) by Sex (SEXP).To graph your data when you are on the Table View screen, simply select the 'Graph View' tab.

You will now see your graph on the right of the screen, and the “Customise Graph” options on the left panel of the screen. There are a few things you can do with your graph.

You can change the type of graph you have selected. For example, if you select the ‘Bar’ radio button under the “Select a type of graph” section and select “Update Graph” button at the bottom, the graph becomes a Bar graph. If you select the radio button of ‘Line’ radio button under “Select a type of graph”, section then select “Update Graph” button at the bottom, the graph then becomes a Line graph. Simply select the particular graph type you are interested in and select the “Update Graph” button.

You can also change what you are graphing. In this example, we will remove 'Males' by un-selecting the ‘Male’ checkbox in “Selected series”, and select “Update Graph” button. Your new graph has removed 'Males' and you are now graphing 'Females'. If you are happy with your graph, you can download it as either PDF or PNG by using the Download Graph drop down box at the top right corner, and select ‘Go’ button.

That ends this Module - Graph View.
