Census data release

An important part of the Census is returning the information collected to all Australians. Census data assist government, business, researchers and the community to make informed decisions that help shape a brighter future for Australia.

The first results of the 2011 Census will be released on 21 June 2012, with further releases taking place in October 2012 and early 2013.

You can view the communication activities undertaken by the ABS to promote the release of 2011 Census data below.

The ABS joined with the Spinifex Group to transform the façade of historic Cadman's Cottage into an interactive playground filled with 2006 Census data.

Come to your Census gives people the opportunity to interact, explore and have fun with Census data and find out exactly what a Census can tell us about Australia and ourselves.

Come to your Census was just one of many attractions at Vivid Sydney, which ran daily from 6pm on 25 May 2012 to 11 June 2012.

Vivid Sydney is the biggest festival of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. For more information about Vivid Sydney visit www.vividsydney.com
