Order 2011 DataPacks on DVD now

DataPacks with first release data from the 2011 Census will be available on DVD from 21 June 2012

Census DataPacks contain comprehensive data about people, families and dwellings for all available geographic areas, with associated Geographic Information System digital boundary files. They are designed for clients who have existing database or analysis systems, for example Geographic Information Systems or other mapping and tabulation systems.

Release of data

The 2011 DataPacks will be released in several stages, from 21 June 2012 to 26 August 2013.
  • The first DVD with first release data for Basic Community, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples (Indigenous) and Time Series Profiles, (cat. no. 2069.0.30.008) is available on 21 June 2012. The DVD will be updated later with second release data on 30 October 2012 and third release data on 28 March 2013.
  • The second DVD with first release data for Place of Enumeration and Expanded Community Profiles (cat. no. 2069.0.30.009) is available on 21 August 2012. The DVD will be updated with Working Population Profile and second release data on 20 November 2012 and third release data on 28 March 2013.
  • The third DVD with Estimated Resident Population (cat. no. 2069.0.30.010) is available on 26 August 2013.

The DVDs will be mailed to you or you can collect them from your ABS state or territory office after 11.30 am on the day of data release.

Ordering DVDs

You can order 2011 DataPack DVDs by calling our National Information and Referral Service (NIRS) on 1300 135 070. International callers phone +61 2 9268 4909.

The DVDs can either be mailed to you or can be collected on the day of data release. Please advise the NIRS consultant regarding your preference.

Price of DVDs

  • The first and second DVDs are priced at $100 each (includes postage and GST). These DVDs will be updated later with second and third release data.
  • The third DVD is priced at $50 (includes postage and GST).
  • The first and second DVDs will be resupplied with second and third release information without additional charge.
  • For $250 (includes postage and GST) you can purchase all of the DataPacks on DVD for all releases (first, second and third release).
