CaSQ 38 – What graph to use when

Task:
What graph to use when: cut and paste activity
Cut out the graphs/table, the descriptors and the types of displays.
Match the descriptors with graphs/table and the type of display.
Glue your graphs/table and the descriptors together into your workbook.
Draw up and fill in a PMI (Plus/Minus/Interesting) table for each type of display.
Descriptors and type of displays:
Symbols are used to count data.
Dot plot
Frequency table
Compares different sized groups.
Pie chart
Records raw data.
Parallel bar chart.
Picture graph
Shows how each part compares to the whole group.
Uses pictures to represent data.
