State and Territory Statistical Indicators (cat. no. 1367.0) Provides an overview of the population, economy and environment for each of the Australian states and territories (2011-2012).
In fACT - Statistical Information on the ACT and Region (cat. no. 1308.8) Condensed information about the territory, released quarterly (May 2008-Feb 2011).
Australian Capital Territory at a Glance (cat. no. 1314.8) Condensed information about the state, released annually (1995-2007)
Australian Capital Territory in Focus (cat. no. 1307.8) A detailed statistical review of social, economic, environmental and demographic characteristics of the ACT (1994-2007).
Canberra: A Social Atlas (cat. no. 2030.8) Presents colour maps and brief commentary that highlights social, demographic and housing characteristics of the population in Canberra and the urban part of the Queanbeyan City Council. Released 5-yearly, based on Census data (1996-2006).

State Supplementary Surveys

Historical Statistics

Year Book Australia (cat. no. 1301.0) portrays the nation's physical geography, history, institutions and social and economic conditions (1908-).

All ABS publications since 1994 are available in full-text on the ABS website. The ABS is digitising a range of older publications on an ongoing basis: The Historical Census and Colonial Data Archive (HCCDA) Australian Colonial census publications and reports (non-ABS site).

The National Library provides links to Australian family history and genealogy websites, including state and territory libraries which are a good source for copies of older ABS publications and family history information (non-ABS site).
