This manual describes the concepts and definitions underpinning Australian labour statistics, the data sources and the methods used in the collection and compilation of these statistics.

6104.0 - Labour Statistics in Brief, Australia (annual)
This pamphlet presents a range of summary statistics with the emphasis on simple tabular and graphical presentations. Most of the ABS labour collections are covered, including the Labour Force Survey, the range of employer surveys and the industrial disputes collection.

6105.0 - Australian Labour Market Statistics, Australia (irregular)
This publication draws together data from a range of sources, mostly ABS household and business surveys, to provide an overall picture of the labour market. The frequency of Australian Labour Market Statistics changed from quarterly to irregular in July 2012. It will continue to include data tables on employment type, volume measures of labour underutilisation, and extended labour force underutilisation.

This publication contains summary results of the monthly Labour Force Survey containing estimates of employed and unemployed persons classified by sex, full-time/part-time status, states and territories and some age groups; and persons not in the labour force.

6206.0 - Labour Force Experience, Australia (two-yearly)
This publication presents information about the labour force experience of the civilian population aged 15–69 years during the year prior to the survey. Details include the number of weeks spent working, looking for work or out of the labour force during the year.

6209.0 - Labour Mobility, Australia (two-yearly)
This publication provides information on job mobility and job tenure for people aged 15 years and over.

6211.0 - Child Employment, Australia (irregular)
This publication presents information on how many children are working with a focus on occupation and school/work balance. Questions were asked of the parent or guardian to collect information on work done in the last 12 months for all children in the household aged 5 to 14 years.

6216.0 - Multiple Jobholding, Australia (irregular)
This publication presents information about multiple jobholders, including estimates of the number and characteristics of people holding a second job, as well as details about that job.

This publication provides information about people who were not in the labour force, including whether they wanted to work, reasons why they were not actively looking for work, availability for work, and main activity while not in the labour force.

6222.0 - Job Search Experience, Australia (annual)
This publication presents information about the experiences of unemployed people in seeking work, in terms of the steps they have taken to find work and the difficulties they have encountered in finding work. It also provides estimates of employed people who have successfully obtained a job in the previous 12 months.

This publication contains estimates of gross earnings and number of public sector employees by level of government by state.

6250.0 - Labour Force Status and Other Characteristics of Migrants, Australia (three-yearly)
This publication presents information on the labour force participation of migrants cross-tabulated by migration category, country of birth; educational attainment and age group on arrival and whether occupation before migration was the same as current occupation.

6265.0 - Underemployed Workers, Australia (annual)
This publication provides information on underemployment. People who worked less than 35 hours in the week prior to the survey who would have preferred to work more hours were asked about whether they were looking for work with more hours, available to start work with more hours, and their experience in looking for work with more hours. Other information includes the duration of the current period of insufficient work, and the number of extra hours preferred.

6266.0 - Retrenchment and Redundancy, Australia (discontinued)
This publication presents information on the number and characteristics of persons who have been retrenched or accepted redundancy packages across Australia in the previous three years.

6275.0 - Locations of Work, Australia (three-yearly)
This publication provides information about people aged 15 years and over and the types of places they work, with particular focus on people who usually worked more hours at home than elsewhere in their main or second job or business.

6287.0 - Labour Force Characteristics of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, Estimates from the Labour Force Survey (annual)
This publication provides estimates of the labour force characteristics of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians using data from the Labour Force Survey. It also draws attention to statistical and data quality issues that should be considered when using the estimates.

This publication presents information from three survey topics: weekly earnings of employees, core employment benefits and trade union members. Core employment benefits data includes information relating to sick leave, annual leave, long-service leave, maternity/paternity leave and superannuation coverage. Information about the level of trade union membership is also provided.

This publication presents information on the number of disputes, employees involved, working days lost and working days lost per 1,000 employees in industrial disputes involving stoppages of work of 10 working days or more.

This publication contains estimates of the number of job vacancies with state and territory and industry dissections.

6359.0 - Forms of Employment, Australia (annual)
This publication presents information about employed persons (excluding contributing family workers) aged 15 years and over and their employment arrangements in the Australian workforce. Among the topics covered are the different types of employment arrangements including contract work, casual employment and leave entitlements, and employment characteristics such as hours worked, industry and occupation.

6361.0 - Employment Arrangements, Retirement and Superannuation, Australia (six-yearly)
This publication presents information about people's employment arrangements such as type of worker (e.g. casuals, owner managers) and information on whether people are contributing to superannuation. Retirement was included in the 2007 Survey of Employment Arrangements, Retirement and Superannuation (SEARS).

These data cubes provide historical Labour Force Survey (LFS) time series data on the civilian population by labour force status, age, marital status, birthplace, state and territory of usual residence, industry, occupation, hours worked and duration of unemployment.

6220.0 - Persons Not in the Labour Force, Australia (annual)
These data cubes provide information on the characteristics of people not in the labour force such as their main activity while not in the labour force and the main reason they are not looking for work.

6224.0.55.001 - Labour Force Status and Other Characteristics of Families, Australia (annual)
From September 2008, these data cubes contain detailed monthly information about labour force status and other characteristics of families using data collected in the Labour Force Survey. Previously these datacubes were produced on an annual basis.

6238.0 - Retirement and Retirement Intentions, Australia (two-yearly)
These data cubes present information about retirement and retirement intentions of people aged 45 years and over who have, at some time, worked for two weeks or more.

6239.0 - Barriers and Incentives to Labour Force Participation, Australia (two-yearly)
These data cubes focus on people who are 18 years and over who are either not employed or work very few hours (0–15 hours).
