New ABS/Universities Australia Agreement for 2009-11 signed December 2008
Thirty five Australian universities are participating in a new Agreement with the ABS for access to CURFs, the ABS Data Laboratory (new to this Agreement), Census Table Builder (on its release) and the Luxembourg Income Study. Access is for the purposes of research, teaching and permitted commercial uses.
New to this Agreement, permitted commercial uses include use of CURFs for:
- consultancy services for a third party
- statistical and other reports and publications
- teaching materials
For more information see the Universities Australia Agreement web page.
Change to CURF prices from 1 January 2009
CURFs are priced in accordance with ABS Pricing Policy and Commonwealth Cost Recovery Guidelines. The price covers costs incurred in providing access to CURFs. ABS reviewed the CURF price in 2006 and has again reviewed it in 2008. Following this review ABS has retained the pricing structure which sees the CURF price charged per organisation rather than per person. Likewise, ABS does not charge a renewal fee for CURF access nor charge for providing access to a CURF for additional users in an organisation.
See new CURF pricing to be effective from 1 January 2009.
