Accessing CURF Microdata

A Confidentialised Unit Record File (CURF) is a file of responses to an ABS survey that has had identifying information about a person or organisation removed.

CURFs are available in three different access modes:
  • CD-ROM
  • Remote Access Data Laboratory (RADL)
  • ABS Site Data Laboratory (ABSDL)
There are two levels of detail of CURF available:
      • Basic and
      • Expanded
Basic CURFs contain less detailed data than Expanded CURFs and are available either on CD-ROM or via the RADL or ABSDL.

Expanded CURFs contain more detail than a Basic CURF, and are available via the RADL or ABSDL only.

Please see Applying for CURF Microdata for more information about gaining access to CURFs in these access modes.
