CDATA Online Version 2

The latest version of CDATA Online improves speed, usability and provides users with additional features to further customise their Census tables. Full details are available in the CDATA Online - User Manual.

Additional features

'Use Map to Group' geographical areas and save custom groups
Under the My Custom Data tab appears the Use Map to Group link. You can now build and save customised geographical groups visually via the map interface that provides a variety of selection options and tools.

Introduction of 'Large Table Preview Mode'
Large Table Preview Mode allows you to build a table of over 20,000 cells and download it faster than the original CData Online. Large Table Preview mode will allow you to construct a table and edit its content and layout without your web browser attempting to display the entire table on screen. Once satisfied with your table layout, it can be immediately downloaded in Excel (.xls or .xlsx) or Comma Separated Value (.csv) format. This makes working with large tables a much faster process.

Introduction of 'Change Database' function
The Change Database button appears in the top of the Customise Table pane. This allows you to quickly change database without having to go through pre navigation.

Inclusion of 'Place of Work' data
Place of Work data is now included under the Place of Employment count method.

View geographical and classification codes in tables
You can show or hide geographic and classification codes using the C (code) button in table view.

Improvements

Upgraded security with single user login
User security has been upgraded to notify upon login if user ID is in use.

Upgrade of thematic mapping to allow transparency download
Downloaded maps now support transparencies to view geographic boundaries.

'Table View' and 'Customise Table' view functions
Retrieve Data button moved above the table in Table View. Moved Add to Row, Add to Column and Remove from Table buttons to the top of the Customise Table pane.

Improved system speed
Faster geographic and classification selection.

New download formats
Download data in xlsx (Excel 07) and CSV String Value in addition to existing xls (Excel 03) and Comma Separated Value.

No more secure content warning
Secure content warning in Internet Explorer 7 removed.

Annotations included
Annotations appear below the table and provide information on confidentiality and the data retrieved.
