NATIONAL STATISTICAL SERVICE
The National Statistical Service (NSS) is an initiative which supports a whole of government approach to the management of statistical information. Its aim is to increase the range of good quality statistical information available for decision making, and to develop statistical partnerships to share statistical knowledge and expertise.
For further information visit the NSS website at www.nss.gov.au.
The NSS website also incorporates Statistical Clearing House (SCH) information. The SCH is the central clearance point for all Australian Commonwealth Government surveys involving 50 or more businesses. The site also contains statistical references such as the sample size calculator and survey design material.
STATE AND TERRITORY STATISTICAL SERVICE
The State and Territory Statistical Service (STSS) leads the expansion of the National Statistical Service in the regions and provides a flexible and responsive service to meet priority statistical needs of South Australian State Government clients.
For more information contact James Inglis on (08) 8237 7405 or email sa.statistics@abs.gov.au.
RURAL AND REGIONAL STATISTICS PROGRAM
The Rural and Regional Statistics program aims to improve the availability of regional data. Activities include improving access to, and dissemination of ABS data and data from other sources, and developing new indicators where feasible. A particular focus of this work is on utilising administrative data maintained by Australian Government and state/territory government agencies. These activities are undertaken by the Rural and Regional Statistics National Centre and by Regional Statistics Units in each ABS state and territory office.
For further information see the Regional Statistics theme page.
