Create a Teacher Account
Before your students can take part in CensusAtSchool, you need to create a Teacher Account. To do this, simply fill in the form on the Teacher Account page. You'll need to know how many students will be completing the questionnaire so Student Activity Numbers (SAN) can be allocated.
Once an account has been set up, you’ll receive an email containing your username and links to reference documents to get you started. Your username and password can be used for subsequent years and remains valid unless you change school or email address.
Student Activity Numbers
A SAN is a randomly generated number for students to access, complete and submit the CensusAtSchool questionnaire. Each student has a ‘one use only’ eight digit alphanumeric that remains active until the questionnaire has been submitted. If students don’t finish the questionnaire in the time allocated, they can use the same SAN to complete it later as long as they have not pressed the submit button. However, students’ responses cannot be saved and finished later.
Viewing and printing SAN
The viewing and printing facility allows you to monitor individual SAN. SAN lists have three columns: the first contains the alphanumeric; the second is for notes you want to add; and the third records whether the SAN has been used or not.
Login to your Teacher Account page to view or print your SAN list.
Generating additional SAN
After you have created an account and logged in, you can generate additional SAN as you need them; however, the maximum number of unused SAN is 300.
