Information on forms of remuneration (other than usual pay) received by employees and other conditions of their employment.
Purpose of Data
Estimates of the numbers and types of employment benefits (including superannuation) received by employees, cross-classified by demographic and labour force characteristics.
Persons aged 15 and over employed as wage and salary earners.
Superannuation Data Items
Superannuation scheme membership provided by an employer as a benefit in an employee's main job. Data items may be cross-classified by gender, occupation, industry, full or part-time work, age, permanent or casual employment, weekly earnings, sector, size of location.
This survey is conducted by the ABS as a supplement to the Labour Force Survey.
Method of Collection
The Labour Force Survey is dwellings-based and covers about three-fifths of one percent of the population of Australia. The information is obtained from the occupants of selected dwellings by trained interviewers. Additional questions relating to special topics are asked of those who fall within the scope of the supplementary survey.

Similar surveys were conducted in February to May 1979, and annually from August 1983 to August 1992. The last survey was conducted in August 1994. The next survey is scheduled in August 1999.
Data are available for Australia, each State and Territory and for certain regions within each State.
Confidentiality and Availability
Tables compiled from ABS household surveys do not enable individual respondents to be identified. As a result, a wide range of customised tables can be produced.
