  • About this Release

15/12/2009 NOTE: The Expanded Confidentialised Unit Record File (CURF) for the 2005 Survey of Education and Training now contains only one SEIFA Index (Socio-economic Index for Areas) instead of two when the product was first released on 29 August 2006. The Index of Relative Socio-economic Disadvantage remains on the file while the Index of Education and Occupation has been removed. This change has been brought about by a review of the ABS' policy on the release of small area data on Expanded CURFs. Please note that the data item list has been amended to reflect this change, however the Technical Manual has not been updated and still contains reference to the Index of Education and Occupation. Further information regarding SEIFA indexes is available from the ABS' Information and Referral Service on 1300 135 070 or email client.services@abs.gov.au

This product has an associated data item list in Excel.

The publication and the data item list should be read together.

Provides information about EXPANDED confidentialised unit record data from the 2005 Survey of Education and Training. Data was collected for all persons and focuses on level and field of educational attainment; participation in education and training; work history, including occupation and industry; current study; completed qualifications; details of training courses completed; training outcomes; access to education and training and employer support; access to education and training; unmet demand, and home access to a computer and the Internet. The EXPANDED SET CURF is available via RADL only. The RADL is accessible for authorised users via the ABS web site and enables the ABS to make more detailed microdata available than on CD-ROM, while still maintaining the confidentiality of ABS data providers.
