Mobile handset subscriber numbers

As at 30 June 2014, there were 20.6 million mobile handset subscribers in Australia, an increase of 1% from 20.3 million subscribers at the end of December 2013.

Mobile handset subscriber downloads

The volume of data downloaded via mobile handsets for the three months ended 30 June 2014 was 38,734 Terabytes, a 40% increase from the three months ended 31 December 2013. This represents 4% of total data downloaded.

For the 20.6 million mobile handset subscribers, this equates to 0.6 GB of data downloaded per subscriber per month.
