STATE & TERRITORY EARNINGS

STATE & TERRITORY EARNINGS

In May 2013, those employed in the Australian Capital Territory had the highest Full-Time Adult Average Weekly Ordinary Time Earnings at $1,702.00, followed by Western Australia ($1,644.80). The Australian Capital Territory has a high proportion of Public sector workers, who on average earn more than those in the Private sector. In recent years WA has experienced a resource sector boom which has had a significant influence on wages in the Mining industry as well as those businesses providing services to Mining (for example, some businesses in the Construction and Wholesale trade industries).
