Canberra's libraries and archives were the main winners receiving the majority (72% or $21.5m) of heritage funding. Per person Canberra's libraries and archives received more than three times the national funding levels ($66.28 per Canberran compared with $19.56 per Australian). See media note. Other heritage activities the ACT Government contributed funding for included $13.6m on nature parks and reserves, $3m for other museums and $1.8m on art museums. Arts funding In total the ACT Government contributed $15.7m for arts activities in 2004-05. Performing arts venues ($5m) and performing arts ($3.4m) received the bulk of these funds.
