At 30 June 2014:

    • The Northern Territory had the highest imprisonment rate for both males (1,448.0 prisoners per 100,000 male adult population) and females (127.9 prisoners per 100,000 female adult population). (Table 16)

    • Tasmania had the lowest imprisonment rate for males (210.5 prisoners per 100,000 male adult population), whilst the Australian Capital Territory had the lowest imprisonment rate for females (15.7 prisoners per 100,000 female adult population). (Table 16)
