Wheat grain committed
  • Wheat grain export commitments fell by 282 thousand tonnes (or 5%) to 5.8 million tonnes in June 2012.
  • South Australia had the largest fall in wheat grain committed for export in June 2012, with a decrease of 385 thousand tonnes (or 48%) to 422 thousand tonnes since May 2012. The second largest fall was recorded in Victoria where wheat grain commitments were down by 295 thousand tonnes (or 25%) to 898 thousand tonnes.
  • In Western Australia wheat grain commitments for export were up by 277 thousand tonnes (9%) to 3.3 million tonnes from May 2012. Western Australia's contribution accounted for 56% of the total Australian wheat export commitments and was the largest amount committed by any state since the collection started in 2008.
