Land Management Practices Survey

The first Land Management Practices Survey (LaMPS) was conducted in 2012 and data will be released on 28 June 2013 in the publication Agricultural Resource Management Practices, Australia, 2011-12 (cat. no. 4630.0). The survey results will provide valuable information to assist with decision making in relation to the Australian Government's Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI).

Topics surveyed include the management of:
  • Crops
  • Pastures
  • Livestock
  • Vegetation
  • Fertilisers and soils
  • Animal waste
  • Feral animals

Geographies available:
  • all states, territories and Australia
  • regional data at the Australian Agricultural Environment (AAE) level

AAEs are based on agroecological regions which align climate and environmental features to the 1986 Australian Standard Geographical Classification (ASGC) Local Government Area (LGA) boundaries. For the LaMPS, AAEs are aligned to the nearest Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) Statistical Area 2 boundaries.
