HEALTH ACTIONS OF THE GENERAL POPULATION


People may undertake a range of actions in order to promote, maintain and/or restore their health, including seeking advice on treatment or prevention mechanisms from health professionals.

This chapter contains a range of information about use of health services by the Australian population, including consultations with health professionals, use of medical facilities and private health insurance. Other topics covered were time off work and study/school due to ill-health and caring responsibilities, and breastfeeding patterns.
