The Shire of Roper Gulf had a Census Night ratio of 127. Males had a Census Night ratio of 131, while females had a substantially lower Census Night ratio of 123. Differences were also found by age, those under 20 years of age had a Census Night ratio of 103, while those aged 20 years and over had a Census Night ratio of 143.
