Recurrent expenditure

In 2011-12 the estimate of recurrent expenditure funded by the Australian Government was $2,189.3m (93% of total Australian Government arts and cultural expenditure). Of this recurrent expenditure, $1,643.9m was for Arts and $545.3m for Heritage.

Categories with the highest recurrent expenditure reflected the categories with the highest overall expenditure. For Arts, this was Radio and television services ($1,171.8m), Other arts ($153.9m) and Film and video production and distribution ($107.3m). For Heritage, the categories with the highest recurrent expenditure were Other museums and cultural heritage ($227.2m) and Environmental heritage ($119.3m).
