DATA QUALITY AND INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS

This chapter provides information about data quality issues to take into account when interpreting results. It is important that data users are aware of data quality issues and be guided by these when interpreting results.

Data quality aspects detailed in this chapter include:

  • sampling variability
  • non-sampling error
  • other factors affecting estimates (including scope, coverage, reference periods and collection periods).

Interpretation of results detailed in this chapter includes:
  • general interpretation notes
  • comparability between 2011-12 National Health Survey (NHS) and National Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey (NNPAS)
  • comparability between 2011-12 NHS and 2007-08 NHS.
