2011-13 AUSTRALIAN HEALTH SURVEY, Release schedule
Profiles of Health (cat. no. 4338.0) provides a comprehensive statistical overview of people's health in Australia. This product was first released on the 29 October 2012 and is designed to be updated progressively.
The First Results publication presents information on long-term health conditions and health risk factors from the NHS sample (that is, 20,500 people). The Health Services and Health Related Actions publication presents information on use of health services and actions people take for their health (for example, medication use).
Updated Results presents information on health risk factors (such as tobacco smoking, Body Mass Index and fruit and vegetable intake); selected long-term health conditions and blood pressure. With a larger sample size of the combined NHS and NNPAS dataset (approximately 32,000 people), this publication provides more accurate estimates and allows for analysis at a finer level of disaggregation.
The Physical Activity publication presents information on detailed adult and child physical activity and sedentary behaviours (with particular focus on screen-based activities) derived from self-reported and pedometer collection methods in the NNPAS. Information is presented with selected population characteristics and health risk factors.
The Biomedical Results for Chronic Diseases publication presents the first results from the NHMS and presents information on biomarkers of chronic disease, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes and chronic kidney function.
The Biomedical Results for Nutrients publication presents the second results from the NHMS and presents information on nutrient biomarkers, including iron, folate, iodine, vitamin D and vitamin B12.
Nutrition information from the NNPAS is expected to be published in May 2014.
The first Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Survey (AATSIHS) results were released on 27 November 2013 using data from the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Survey (NATSIHS) component.
