Data Availability for Statistical Local Areas and Local Government Areas
Statistical Local Areas
The Statistical Local Area geography is supported as a transitional unit for the 2011 Census only. Data will not be released for Statistical Local Areas for the 2016 Census.
Your feedback indicated you wanted more information available for Statistical Local Areas. We will make data for Statistical Local Areas available for all Community Profiles and DataPacks - apart from the Working Profile. Data for Statistical Local Areas will be available in QuickStats and in TableBuilder Basic and TableBuilder Pro.
The 2011 Statistical Local Area boundaries will be used.
Local Government Areas
The ABS will continue to provide a wide range of statistics for Local Government Areas including Place of Work, Address 1 Year Ago and Address 5 Years Ago. Data for Local Government Areas will continue to be supported.
You also asked about the availability of data for Place of Work, Address 1 Year Ago and Address 5 Years Ago. Statistical Area Level 2, will be the main geography of dissemination for these topics.
Local Government Areas are not defined by the ABS and are therefore identified as non-ABS (administrative) regions in the ASGS.
