NON-SCHOOL QUALIFICATIONS IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA

  • In 2011, the regions with the highest rates of attainment of non-school qualifications were all in the greater capital city of Perth.
  • Perth - Inner (64.6%) had the third highest rate of attainment of non-school qualifications of all SA4s in Australia.
  • The regions with the highest rates of attainment of non-school qualifications in Western Australia in 2011 were Perth - Inner (64.6%), Perth - North West (52.0) and Perth - South West (51.3%).
  • Western Australia - Wheat Belt (38.9%) had the lowest rate of attainment of non-school qualifications in Western Australia in 2011.
  • In Western Australia, 48.9% of people had a non-school qualification in 2011.

FIELD OF NON-SCHOOL QUALIFICATIONS

MANAGEMENT AND COMMERCE
  • In 2011, non-school qualifications in management and commerce were most common in the greater capital city of Perth.
  • Perth - Inner (14.3%) had the largest proportion of people with a non-school qualification in this field in Western Australia, followed by Perth - North West (10.2%) and Perth - South East (9.9%).
  • In Western Australia, 8.8% of non-school qualifications were in the field of management and commerce.

ENGINEERING AND RELATED TECHNOLOGIES
  • In 2011, Western Australia - Outback (13.4%), Perth - South West (11.9%) and Bunbury (11.3%) had the largest proportion of people with a non-school qualification in engineering and related technologies of all regions in Western Australia.
  • Western Australia - Outback (13.4%) had the third largest proportion with a non-school qualification in this field of all regions in Australia. This SA4 includes many of the mining regions in this state, including Port Hedland, Roebourne and Karratha in the north of the state.
  • In Western Australia, 11.1% of non-school qualifications were in engineering and related technologies.
