NON-SCHOOL QUALIFICATIONS IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA

  • In 2011, the regions with the highest rates of attainment of non-school qualifications were all in or near greater capital city of Adelaide. Adelaide - Central and Hills (58.8%) had the highest rate of attainment, followed by Adelaide - South (51.3%).
  • The regions with the lowest rates of attainment of non-school qualifications in this state were South Australia - Outback and South Australia - South East (both 37.9%).
  • In 2011, 46.7% of people had a non-school qualifications in South Australia.

FIELD OF NON-SCHOOL QUALIFICATIONS

MANAGEMENT AND COMMERCE
  • In 2011, non-school qualifications in management and commerce were more common in the capital city of Adelaide, with Adelaide - Central and Hills (12.1%) having the largest proportion with a non-school qualification in this field, followed by Adelaide - South (9.4%) and Adelaide - West (9.3%).
  • In 2011, 8.5% of non-school qualifications in South Australia were in this field.

ENGINEERING AND RELATED TECHNOLOGIES
  • South Australia - Outback (11.5%), which includes the mining centre of Roxby Downs, had the largest proportion with a non-school qualification in engineering and related technologies of all regions in South Australia.
  • Adelaide - North (9.6%) had the second largest proportion with a non-school qualification in this field of all regions in South Australia.
  • In 2011, 9.0% of non-school qualifications in South Australia were in engineering and related technologies.
