ABS releases new economics lesson plans Attention Education Editors and Writers Economics lesson plans which incorporate the latest methodology and up-to-date economic data were released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today for distribution free to all schools. The plans and accompanying curriculum activities were developed on the theme internal and external stability and will enable teachers and students to put their finger on the economic pulse of the nation answering questions such as:
The lesson plan package pulls together basic economic concepts and describes how key economic indicators are used to measure the economy. Students and teachers of economics gain access to current and relevant data making economics topical and relevant to the reality of present day Australia. The package delivers the key curriculum requirement that students develop and extend skills of statistical interpretation and analysis. The lesson plans complement the popular, long-running ABS economic statistics text Measuring Australia's Economy.
