TableBuilder allows users to create their own tables of Census data including person, family and dwelling classifications (plus several additional popular custom recodes) for all ABS geographic areas. All person, family and dwelling data are available by place of enumeration (location on Census night), with person data also available by place of usual residence and place of work. TableBuilder completes the suite of products from the 2006 Census. It is a charged subscription service aimed at clients with a high level of experience in Census data and concepts.

This product provides clients with a great degree of freedom to select and combine areas and data of interest and create customised geographic areas or custom data groups. All data returned by TableBuilder will have undergone a confidentialisation process. This process is applied dynamically after the table has been constructed and the data have been aggregated. Therefore the impact of the confidentialisation process is not compounded if clients create custom groups or geographic areas.

Smaller tables constructed may be exported or viewed as a graph or thematic map within TableBuilder. Larger tables can be constructed, previewed, and submitted for processing; the results can then be downloaded directly to a computer for further interrogation without the need to view the data in a web browser. Tables can be saved within the product so they can be retrieved in future sessions. Users will be able to construct tables containing up to 5 million cells.

Please note: Time Series data will not be available in this version of TableBuilder.
