Tiny babies just make the big count

Thousands of babies across Australia will be included in the Census count on Tuesday night 7 August.

The babies born in the few days before the Census - and up until midnight on Tuesday - will just make the count.

They will be the newest (and by far the youngest) Australian residents included in the Census population count and to mark the occasion, the Australian Bureau of Statistics will present tiny baby t-shirts to some of these new babies and their mothers.

"I just made the count" size 000 T-shirts will be presented by senior ABS officers at hospitals in every capital city and major regional areas in Australia.
