Libraries receive latest Census material from ABS
Around 800 Australian libraries are from this week receiving the latest Census information as part of the Australian Bureau of Statistics' Library Extension Program (LEP).
The CD-ROM material, packaged to participating libraries as CLIB96 Release 2, enables library users to access wide ranging social, labour force and housing statistics which were collected in the 1996 Census.
The material is provided free to public libraries and is available without charge to library users along with other ABS material.
A third release, including detailed statistics about Australia's Indigenous population, will be distributed to libraries in September.
These documents will be presented in a new window.
