Year Book 1999: Queensland as it is today
The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today released the 1999 Year Book Queensland , which takes a comprehensive look at the State's economy and social conditions drawing on information from ABS and other key sources.
This important reference on the State is a must for those who want topical and relevant facts at their fingertips. Information is brought together from a wide variety of sources and is presented using a mix of text, tables, charts and maps; the facts and figures come alive in the beautifully presented, easy-to-use reference. It is bound in a hard cover featuring the stark beauty and sunburnt colours of a scene in Central Queensland.
Media will find the publication a good source of stories. Where further information is needed, ABS can supply figures from the original surveys on request.
The 1999 edition contains a detailed statistical review of important aspects of life in Queensland, including its government, industry, environment, history and lifestyle.
The acting Regional Director of ABS in Queensland, Mr Ian Marshall, praised the continued co-operation received from individuals, primary producers, businesses, government agencies and other organisations who provide the basic information from which ABS statistics are produced.
