Last call for Census test participation

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reminds everyone selected to participate in the Census field test in parts of Western Australia who haven’t already done so, that Tuesday, 2 September is the last opportunity to request a paper form from the Census Inquiry Service, if you need one.

Friday, 5 September is the last day to submit your form online or, if responding with a paper form, in the Reply Paid Envelope provided.

ABS Western Australia Regional Director, Tom Joseph, said every response will help the ABS to run a successful national Census in 2016.

“It’s not too late – we need your support and participation to make it a success,” Mr Joseph said.

“If you received an instruction letter with a form ID and passcode for online completion, you can complete the Census wherever you can access the internet.

“You can complete it online, easily, using desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile devices – you don’t need to use your home computer or a broadband internet connection.

“It’s fast, easy, secure and environmentally friendly,” Mr Joseph added.

Mr Joseph said households that received a paper form can still complete it and mail it back to the ABS in the Reply Paid Envelope provided.

“Regardless of paper or online, if you were selected to participate in the test, we encourage you to fill in your Census form accurately for everyone staying in your house on Tuesday, 5 August 2014 as soon as possible.

“We would like to thank those who have already completed the test,” Mr Joseph added.

All information provided is kept secure and confidential to the ABS. No information is released in a way that can identify any particular individual or household.
