CHANGES TO CHILD CARE From 2 July 2018 the Child Care Subsidy replaced the Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate. These changes have been reflected in the child care and preschool and primary education series this quarter. 70 YEARS OF THE AUSTRALIAN CPI The CPI series dates back to the September quarter 1948, which is available in tables 1 and 2 of this publication. To mark 70 years of measuring the Australian CPI, a feature article 70 years of the Australian Consumer Price Index is available on the website this quarter. An additional article, 70 Years of Inflation in Australia, is also available on the Chief Economist Series page.
