NOVEMBER KEY POINTS


CURRENT PRICES
  • The trend estimate was relatively unchanged (0.0%) in November 2012. This follows a rise of 0.1% in October 2012 and a rise of 0.1% in September 2012.
  • The seasonally adjusted estimate fell 0.1% in November 2012. This follows a relatively unchanged October 2012 (0.0%) and a rise of 0.4% in September 2012.
  • In trend terms, Australian turnover rose 3.1% in November 2012 compared with November 2011.
  • The following industries rose in trend terms in November 2012: Food retailing (0.4%) and Other retailing (0.1%). Household goods retailing (-0.4%), Clothing, footwear and personal accessory retailing (-0.6%), Cafes, restaurants and takeaway food services (-0.1%) and Department stores (-0.1%) fell in trend terms in November 2012.
  • The following states and territories rose in trend terms in November 2012: Western Australia (0.6%) and Queensland (0.1%). New South Wales (0.0%) and the Australian Capital Territory (0.0%) were relatively unchanged. Victoria (-0.1%), South Australia (-0.2%), Tasmania (-0.7%) and the Northern Territory (-0.1%) fell in trend terms in November 2012.
